Day #9 – Two bombs and a success…

by · May 10, 2010

So when you are preparing raw food, or any kind of food really, things don’t always turn out exactly like you had hoped.  Today is a great example of that.

Everything I have made so far on this journey has been very tasty, I might even say delightful.

But today, I tried to make two different soups. They were so bad I couldn’t even have more than a few bites. I tried to make a Cream of Shittake mushroom soup, and a Thai curry. I hate wasting food, but there was just no way to fix either of these already strong flavors, oh well…

Then, I was really hungry. I wanted to just go out to eat, but I needed one thing to turn out yummy. I made a salad dressing, and made a big spinach salad. I think it turned out great. Phew… I was going to get cranky if I didn’t eat something soon haha.

Citrus-Hemp Dressing

1 1/4 cup orange juice

1/4 cup lemon juice

1/4 cup Nama Shoyu

1/4 Olive Oil

2 table spoons raw apple cider vinegar

1/2 cup hemp seeds

2-3 cloves of garlic

One 2 inch piece of ginger, peeled

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Blend in a Vita-Mix and enjoy!

Nori Rolls

What I ate today:

3 bananas again

coffee

Nori rolls ( these included walnut butter, hummus, sprouts, carrots, and cucumber)

And I think I am going to make some lemon almond cookies for desert tonight :-)

Thanks for Listening.
