Raw Food for Beauty
So I got the best complement the other day. I have been going to the same Salon/Spa for my haircuts and occasional eyebrow wax for the last three years. My esthetician told me, “Seriously Stephanie, what do you use on your skin? It looks better every time I see you? Are you using some kind of crazy expensive cream or something?”
At first I thought she was messing with me. I was thinking, estheticians don’t just give out skin complements unless they mean it right?
A little bit about my skin history. I had terrible acne in high school. Both of my parents had it, and I had tried everything. There were days when I wouldn’t want to go school because I had layers upon layers of breakouts. I tried Accutane. Which I would never do now because of all of the terrible health repercussions it has, but at the time I was 16 and it was a new product. After six months my skin did clear up, but just enough to be tolerable to be in public when you are a 16 year old girl.
In the last three years, I am now 28, my skin is looking better than it has ever looked. I was so shocked by her complement because, well, I have never gotten a complement on my skin before….
I think my skin has even gotten better the last 6 months as well because I have been drinking my green juice pretty much every day and only using coconut oil on my skin.
Why coconut oil? My friend Raya has wonderful skin, and she told me all she uses is coconut oil. That’s it. I thought she was crazy, oil, on your face? Hmmm, I will skeptically try it.
Now it is all I use. Love it. Smells great, and that is all I use on my body too. In fact, I have my own line of coconut oil in the works as you are reading. Your skin absorbs it, instead of just rubbing a chemical on the surface of your skin.
So when you hear of people becoming more beautiful on raw foods, give it a look before dismissing. When I was at Living Light, I could actually see people transforming before my eyes. You are cleaning/detoxing the body from the inside out, its not just what is on your skin. Here is an amazing example of transformation of beauty and extreme weight loss by Angela Stokes. YOU are what is beautiful, feed that beautiful body what it needs!

My hair is growing faster and thicker too, and my finger nails grow faster and thicker. It is happening to me and it is still interesting to witness, that when your body gets what it needs nutritionally, how well it works..
Many Hollywood actors and actresses are into Raw foods, they have caught on to how good it makes you feel and look.
To name a few: Demi Moore, Woody Harrelson, Uma Thurman, Elizabeth Hurley, Donna Karan, Natalie Portman, Pierce Brosnan, Susan Sarandon, Alicia Silverstone, Sting, Cher, Lisa Bonet, Brooke Burke and Margaret Cho, all have experimented with, publicly embraced or praised Raw Foods in the press.
Personally I am attracted to others whom embody natural beauty. I think that is the direction we are shifting. I have not heard anyone in a while say, “Wow that person is totally done up and fake looking, that is HOT.” Fake beauty, much like food, is about as attractive as a microwave dinner. Might look good on the package, but offers nothing life-generating or satisfying. An authentic glow however, inner beauty, now that is the new HOT. Beauty now, and I believe in the future makes us feel good through and through. New beauty will shine through both spiritually and physically!
