Raw Food and Weight Loss

by · November 12, 2010

People seek raw foods/healthier life style for a variety of reasons. Weight-loss, chronic illness, low energy, etc.

This article is for those who seek weight-loss, or fat loss, or getting into those skinny jeans.

I have heard of obese people loosing weight, and people who are too skinny gaining the weight that they need on Raw Foods. Long story short, when you feed your body raw organic nutrient rich foods, the body balances out to our natural weight, how we are naturally suppose to look/feel.

I have read and heard so many stories of miraculous weight loss through raw vegan foods. Personally, I have struggled with weight for a long time, well since college when I discovered how delicious beer was haha. So the last five years, that last 10 pounds were difficult to keep off. Now I feel that I am not necessarily skinny, but definitely feel at healthy weight and that my body is so much happier.

If your goal is to be super skinny, I probably can’t help you. But if your goal is to have a healthy happy body weight I might be able to offer some helpful words, and introduce  you to some cool motivational stories.

Permanent weight loss comes through an inner transformation. This usually arises from an epiphany, a moment of clarity, a clear decision. When the decision has been made and a new path in life is chosen, the weight is already lost. The two biggest elements to limit and eliminate in the diet in order to loose weight are: starchy carbohydrates such as baked potatoes, rice, beer, bread, pasta, corn chips, potato chips, etc. and cooked fats such as high-fat meat and pasteurized dairy foods. Over eating habits and weight gain are related to eating de-mineralized foods. The richer the food is in minerals, the more difficult it becomes to overeat.

Makes sense to me.

There are many raw food weight loss programs and support out there. My belief is that it is a lifestlye change more than anything. Natalia Rose’s book Raw Food Life Force Energy: Enter a Totally New Stratosphere of Weight Loss, Beauty, and Health has a great 21-day program for weight loss and beauty. Also Raw Food Rehab is a great online resource and community for weight loss as well. I have been a member of their site for about a week, and am very pleasantly surprised with how welcoming and friendly the community is.

What is your story?
